We are only a few days away from the beginning of the holiday season with Thanksgiving this Thursday. We are all preparing to move courses online while continuing to keep our offices and student services operational on campus. As we make these preparations on campus and in our professional lives each of us is also preparing for Thanksgiving. Although this year’s celebration will be very different than previous years I look forward to the time for reflection. I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to each of you for your continued efforts to serve our students and support the growth and development of our community.
This year has brought challenges to all of our lives and I am continually impressed by the innovative ideas and approaches to campus programs and projects that I see being implemented all over campus. I am also appreciative of the collaboration and support

that is engrained in UHD culture. I enjoy coming to this campus each week to work with faculty, staff, and students on current projects and in planning for the continued growth of our programs and student support services. Our impact on Houston—and beyond—continues to grow with each passing semester. I will use this Thanksgiving to reflect on all that I am thankful for and I invite you to join me in a week of gratitude. Please share what you are grateful for with the hashtag #Grateful2BeAGator.
