It is a great privilege to serve the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Houston-Downtown. Here in the Office of the Provost we strive to support faculty and students and raise the university’s academic profile by removing barriers to faculty and student success, promoting experimentation, innovation, and collaboration in research and learning, ensuring access to resources that foster the continued growth and development of students and faculty, and ensuring that the Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Enrollment Management operations of the university are working together to provide high-quality learning environments for our students.
UHD’s central location in the nation’s fourth-largest city ensures its faculty and staff are directly linked to the needs of the community. This connection allows the university to build its programs, activities, and resources to ideally support its students and engage the entire Houston community. This integrated approach to higher education intertwines the mission of UHD with the empowerment of its surroundings. This connection to the city of Houston is central to our mission and our identity. We are Houston’s downtown university.
I am honored to serve the faculty and staff of UHD. Together, we work to embolden our students in their pursuits of higher education and inspire them as future leaders.
